SUGGESTED DONATION LIST

In lieu of gifts, we are asking for donations.

All of the suggested items below will go to either the House of Hope,

which is the transition home, or the orphanage where the children come from.

Gift cards will go to us to buy things for our children

to take with us when we go to bring them home.

Please keep in mind that we will be taking donations in regular suitcases

·         New clothes, underwear and jackets (boy or girl), sizes 4T and up – all sizes, all seasons (it can get cold at times, and the culture is to bundle the kids up).

·         Cloth diapers

·         Towels/hand towels/washcloths

·         Medical items (for children and staff) - surgical masks, chewable and polyvisol drop multivitamins, Neosporin ointment, band aids, Tylenol, thermometers, skin creams, toothbrushes, toothpaste, baby soaps and lotions, etc.

·         Developmental toys – picture or board games, books, wooden blocks, rattles, mobiles, coloring books and large crayons for older children, puzzles, jump ropes, etc.

·         Solar lights (nice size ones so that when the lights go out, the solar lights that have been powered during the day can be used in the rooms at night) – this is just as much for the parents staying at the House of Hope.

·         Converters for the guest rooms (so parents plug in their hair dryer, or laptop).  We may use them ourselves, but will leave them for other families.

·         Radios (that use batteries – not electricity), so that when the power is out, families can listen to the radio.  We may use one ourselves, but will leave them for other families

·         The orphanage where our children are from, the director has built two new orphanages there, and they are in need of everything to get the orphanage up in running. Just think about what a new home might need. Pots and pans, forks and spoons, plates, twin size bed linen, etc.

·         Little crib mobiles for the babies’ cribs.

·         Gift card for Target or Walgreens.  We were not going to ask for anything for us, but given that we now have to make two trips, anything to help us get what we need to take for our kids when we make the trip to bring them home will be greatly appreciated.  99% of what we need can be bought at Target or Walgreens.

Thanks!
